Lab cases
Track external laboratory work — crowns, bridges, dentures and aligners — through its full lifecycle, with lab and patient costs, and automatic billing back to the treatment plan.
When a treatment needs external laboratory work — crowns, dentures, bridges, aligners — create a lab case linked to the treatment plan. Lab cases live under Lab Cases, or can be created directly from a treatment plan.
Your laboratory directory
CuspFlow keeps a directory of your partner labs (name, contact, address, status). Add your labs once and reuse them across cases.
The lifecycle
Each lab case records the assigned lab, the required doctor, the case type, the teeth involved (FDI codes) and the dates through its lifecycle:
Draft → Sent → In Production → Received → Fitted (or Cancelled)
Track the key dates as the case moves along, so nothing sits forgotten at the lab.
Costs on both sides
A lab case tracks money in two directions:
- What the lab charges you — the lab's invoice cost, plus transport and other costs, with a lab payment status of Pending, Partial or Paid.
- What the patient is charged — one or more procedure line items; the patient charge is their sum.
Automatic billing and teeth sync
When a lab case is linked to a treatment plan, CuspFlow automatically:
- Adds it as a billing line item on that plan's invoice, and
- Merges the case's teeth codes into the plan's teeth chart.
So the treatment plan and the invoice always stay in sync with the lab work — you don't enter it twice.
