Treatment plans & the teeth chart
Chart a visit end to end — procedures, prescriptions, the FDI teeth chart, clinical notes, X-rays and the care team — inside a treatment plan.
A treatment plan is the complete record of a single visit. It's created automatically when a patient is checked in — from a booking or a walk-in — and stays on file permanently. Open it from the patient's Waiting Room card or their profile.
What a plan holds
- Every procedure performed (root canal, extraction, cleaning, and so on).
- Every prescription issued (medicines, gels, products).
- Clinical notes from the dentist or nurse.
- X-rays and images taken during the visit.
- The invoice for the visit.
- Signed consent forms.
- The care team — which staff worked on the plan.
- The patient's journey timings.
The teeth chart
The teeth chart is an interactive FDI diagram where the clinician marks which teeth are involved and can add per-tooth notes. (See the Glossary for how FDI numbering works.)
Adding items and notes
Add procedures and prescriptions from your price catalog, or enter them manually. Write clinical notes directly, or insert a reusable note template and edit from there.
Pricing is locked in one direction
Prices flow from the catalog into the plan. Once an item is added and payment begins, that item's price is locked — like a supermarket checkout. Dosages and clinical notes can still be edited, but prices can't change mid-visit or after checkout. Updating the catalog only affects future visits.
The care team
Each plan needs a Main Doctor — checkout is blocked until one is assigned. Assisting staff are optional. Anyone who adds an item, changes status or takes payment is automatically recorded as a contributor, which drives clinical accountability and commission calculations.
Status
A plan is Ongoing while the visit is active, and becomes Completed or Cancelled. Billing has its own separate finalised state — see Checkout & taking payment.
Needs a lab?
If the treatment involves external lab work, create a lab case from the plan — it links back automatically and adds itself to the invoice.
