Families & household billing

Families group related patients — a household — so you can manage shared contact details and see a combined balance. Each family has a Head of Family who acts as the billing and contact anchor.

Creating a family

From Families, create a new family and add members, or add an existing patient to a family from their profile. One member is designated Head of Family; any member can be promoted to that role later.

Why families matter

• Shared contact channel. Because the family provides a contact point, children under 18 can be registered without their own phone number as long as they belong to a family.
• Household balance. A patient's outstanding balance can be viewed at the family level, so you can see what a whole household owes rather than chasing each person separately.
• Faster front desk. Related patients are linked, so finding a child from a parent's record (or vice versa) is quick.

Managing a family

On the family profile you can:

• See every member and their individual balances.
• View the combined outstanding balance.
• Promote a different member to Head of Family.
