Families & household billing
Group related patients into a family under a Head of Family, and view a household's balance in one place.
Families group related patients — a household — so you can manage shared contact details and see a combined balance. Each family has a Head of Family who acts as the billing and contact anchor.
Creating a family
From Families, create a new family and add members, or add an existing patient to a family from their profile. One member is designated Head of Family; any member can be promoted to that role later.
Why families matter
- Shared contact channel. Because the family provides a contact point, children under 18 can be registered without their own phone number as long as they belong to a family.
- Household balance. A patient's outstanding balance can be viewed at the family level, so you can see what a whole household owes rather than chasing each person separately.
- Faster front desk. Related patients are linked, so finding a child from a parent's record (or vice versa) is quick.
Managing a family
On the family profile you can:
- See every member and their individual balances.
- View the combined outstanding balance.
- Promote a different member to Head of Family.
